History of The Sensible Nutrition Connection

In the beginning…  How SNaC became to be
The Sensible Nutrition Connection or “SNaC” is a nutrition consulting firm, founded in June of 1995 by Christina Economos, Ph.D. and Debra Wein, M.S., R.D.    Economos and Wein are nutrition professionals committed to providing individualized, sensible nutrition recommendations based on the most current scientific information available.

Economos and Wein met in 1990 while working  to promote nutrition and exercise to the employees of Shearson Lehman/American Express in New York city. Chris was a manager at the facility and Debra was working part time while pursuing her masters.  The two developed an immediate bond of friendship and commitment to promoting sensible nutrition.

After a few years, Chris moved back to Boston, her hometown, to pursue her doctorate and continue consulting, Chris also began writing nutrition articles for MetroSports magazine (and others) and then continued for over 6 years, serving as the nutrition editor.

Debra, still in New York, continued consulting and began co-authoring articles with Christina for MetroSports and other publications.  A few years later, in 1995, Debra moved to Boston and Debra and Chris co-founded SNaC.

They founded SNaC to ensure that the most accurate nutrition information is made available.  In this pursuit, SNaC employs only the most dynamic, credentialed and dedicated professionals.
